Canadian Job Posting Compliance Kit
Write job ads that follow the pay transparency and posting rules in Ontario, British Columbia and Prince Edward Island.
CA$39One-time price. Instant ZIP download. Rules checked against government sources on October 22, 2026.

Who it is for
- Employers in Ontario, BC or PEI who write their own job ads
- Recruiters and staffing agencies posting jobs for clients
- HR generalists who want the current rules in one place, with the sources
The problem
Ontario added new job posting rules on January 1, 2026 for employers with 25 or more employees: pay or a pay range (no wider than $50,000 a year), an AI-use statement if AI is used to screen applicants, a statement on whether the job is an existing vacancy, no “Canadian experience” requirements, and a reply to interviewed applicants within 45 days.
BC has required pay in job ads since November 1, 2023. PEI brought in a new Employment Standards Act on June 30, 2026, and its pay-in-posting rule is now section 19.
What is inside
- 11 page PDF guide in plain language, with a one page quick rules table for Ontario, BC and PEI. Every rule links to the government source, with the date we checked it.
- One page printable checklist to tick before you post.
- Excel / Google Sheets workbook. It has an ad checker, a red-flag phrase scan (43 phrases, each with safer wording and a source), an Ontario 45-day reply tracker and a rewrite log.
- 3 fill-in job ad templates (Word and PDF): general role, trades or hourly role, professional salaried role.
- README with a 10 minute quick start.
What it covers
Ontario ESA job posting rules in force January 1, 2026 (pay range limit, AI statement, vacancy statement, Canadian experience ban, 45-day reply, 3-year records), BC Pay Transparency Act (pay in postings, no pay history questions), PEI Employment Standards Act sections 18 and 19 (new Act in force June 30, 2026), human rights wording rules, and Ontario AODA recruitment notices.
What it is not
- It is not legal advice. It is general information based on government sources. For your specific situation, talk to an employment lawyer or HR professional.
- It does not cover Quebec French-language rules in depth, or federally regulated employers.
- It does not guarantee that an ad is compliant. It helps you check the items the rules list.
